Veena Misra leads NC State engineering as interim dean

Veena Misra has been named interim dean of the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University, effective immediately. The appointment was announced by university officials.

Misra, a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been a faculty member at NC State since 1998. She previously served as associate dean for research and graduate programs in the College of Engineering.

Her research focuses on nanotechnology and microelectronics, including work on energy-efficient computing and sensor systems. Misra has also led several interdisciplinary initiatives at the university.

The College of Engineering at NC State is one of the largest in the United States, with more than 10,000 students and over 300 faculty members. Misra will oversee academic programs, research, and operations until a permanent dean is appointed.
