The Carnegie Corporation of New York has named four Indian Americans to its 2026 Great Immigrants list, honoring individuals who have made notable contributions to the United States in fields including business, medicine, science, and academia.
The honorees are Nikesh Arora, chief executive of Palo Alto Networks; Mahzarin Banaji, a psychologist known for her work on implicit bias; Sanjiv Chopra, a physician and professor at Harvard Medical School; and a representative from Vertex Pharmaceuticals.
The annual list recognizes naturalized citizens who have enriched American society through their achievements and civic engagement. The 2026 cohort includes immigrants from various countries, with the four Indian Americans among those selected for their professional accomplishments and community impact.
Carnegie Corporation praised the honorees for their leadership and contributions to their respective fields, highlighting their roles in advancing technology, healthcare, and social understanding.
