Indian Diaspora: 35M Strong, $130B+ Remittances

The Indian diaspora, numbering 35 million people, accounts for just 2.5% of India's population but wields significant global influence. India receives more than $130 billion in remittances each year from its overseas community.

Indian Americans, who make up 1.5% of the U.S. population, have a median household income exceeding $150,000. The diaspora includes Indian-origin CEOs leading major global organizations such as Microsoft, Google, and the World Bank.

More than 1,600 global capability centers (GCCs) run by the diaspora are valued at $60 billion. The community holds prominent positions in politics and business in Mauritius, Trinidad, and Guyana, and has a strong presence in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Silicon Valley.
