Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over a speedboat accident near Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island that killed at least 15 Indian tourists. The boat capsized about 400 meters offshore, carrying 32 Indian nationals and four crew members.

The accident occurred when the vessel was traveling near the popular tourist destination. Rescue operations were launched immediately, but the death toll has reached 15, with several others injured.

In a statement, PM Modi conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. He also assured that the Indian embassy in Vietnam is providing all necessary assistance to the affected families.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. Local authorities are working to determine whether overloading or rough weather conditions contributed to the tragedy.
