USA Celebrates 250 Years of Independence

The United States on July 4, 2026, commemorated the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Festivities included parades, fireworks, and naturalization ceremonies in major cities from New York to Los Angeles.

In Philadelphia, a reenactment of the Second Continental Congress reading of the Declaration drew thousands to Independence Hall. President attended a ceremony at the National Archives, where the original document is displayed.

The day also featured a special concert on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., with performances by military bands and popular artists. Fireworks displays lit the skies over landmarks including the Statue of Liberty and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Naturalization ceremonies welcomed new citizens in over 200 events nationwide. The anniversary prompted reflections on the nation's history and its ongoing journey toward the ideals of liberty and equality.
