Top 10 Universities in the World in 2027: QS Ranking (Updated)

QS has released its updated World University Rankings for 2027, listing the top 10 universities globally. The rankings evaluate institutions based on academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) retained the top spot for the 13th consecutive year. The University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford followed in second and third places, respectively.

Other institutions in the top 10 include Stanford University, Harvard University, the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Imperial College London, ETH Zurich, University College London (UCL), and the University of Chicago.

The rankings reflect changes in institutional performance, with notable shifts in positions compared to previous years. QS noted increased competition among universities, particularly in research output and international collaboration.
