Bunkerhill Health, founded by Indian-origin entrepreneur Nishith Khandwala, has secured $55 million in funding. The company develops artificial intelligence tools to analyze medical scans and detect early signs of disease.

Khandwala started the company after his father suffered a heart attack. Doctors later found that a previous scan had already shown warning signs, but they had gone unnoticed. The experience drove him to create technology that helps radiologists catch such indicators earlier.

The startup's platform works with existing hospital systems to flag potential issues in X-rays, CT scans, and other imaging. It aims to reduce missed diagnoses and speed up treatment decisions.

Khandwala, a former software engineer, built Bunkerhill Health with a focus on integrating AI into clinical workflows without disrupting doctors' routines. The company plans to use the new funding to expand its team and deploy its tools in more hospitals.
