Indian Chicken Butter Taco to be introduced by Taco Bell in US after landslide votes

Taco Bell announced plans to introduce an Indian Chicken Butter Taco to its U.S. menu after the item received a landslide of votes in a customer poll. The fast-food chain said the new offering will be available starting next month.

The Indian Chicken Butter Taco features a blend of seasoned chicken in a creamy tomato-based sauce, inspired by the popular Indian dish butter chicken. It will be served in a soft flour tortilla with a side of cooling raita.

Taco Bell conducted a nationwide vote to let customers choose the next limited-time item, and the Indian-inspired taco won by a significant margin. The company described the response as overwhelming, with millions of votes cast online and via its app.

This is not the first time Taco Bell has experimented with global flavors. The chain previously offered items like the Naked Chicken Chalupa and the Quesalupa, but this marks its first foray into Indian cuisine in the U.S. market.

The Indian Chicken Butter Taco is expected to be available for a limited time at participating locations while supplies last. Taco Bell has not announced plans to make it a permanent menu item.
