Gandhi Peace Walk to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti

The Gandhi Peace Walk will take place in New York City on October 2 to mark Gandhi Jayanti, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. The event is organized by the Gandhi Memorial International Foundation and aims to promote peace and nonviolence.

Participants will gather at 10 a.m. at the Gandhi statue in Union Square Park before walking to the United Nations headquarters. The walk is open to the public and free of charge.

Organizers expect hundreds of attendees, including community leaders, students, and members of the Indian diaspora. The walk will feature speeches and cultural performances highlighting Gandhi's teachings.

The event is part of a global series of peace walks held annually in cities such as London, Tokyo, and Johannesburg. Gandhi Jayanti is observed worldwide as the International Day of Nonviolence.
