Frisco Mayor Joins Telugu Community at Bonalu Festival

The indoor celebration took place at the Frisco Flyers Event Center, drawing members of the local Telugu diaspora for a day of cultural performances and traditional rituals.

Bonalu, a festival dedicated to the goddess Mahakali, is widely observed in Telangana and among Telugu communities abroad. Sunday's event featured folk dances, music, and offerings to the deity, preserving the festive spirit of the region.

Mayor Hill's participation underscored the city's embrace of its diverse communities. Organizers from the Dallas Telugu Alai Balai Sangham (D-TABS) expressed appreciation for his presence, noting it strengthened ties between the city and its Indian American residents.
