Indian American educationist Lakshmi N. Reddi named Nevada university provost

Lakshmi N. Reddi, an Indian American educationist, has been named the provost of the University of Nevada, Reno. The appointment was announced by the university's administration.

Reddi previously served as the dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. He also held leadership roles at other institutions, including Florida International University.

As provost, Reddi will oversee academic affairs, including curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and research initiatives. He is expected to begin his new role in the coming months.

Reddi holds a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Florida. His research focuses on geoenvironmental engineering and sustainable infrastructure.
