According to few Indian nationalists living in Sydney who spoke to NRI Herald, the hostilities between the Indian diaspora and the Khalistani extremists existed for a long time but the fight started after "Jassi", started posting pro-Khalistani and anti-India content on TikTok with the usage of vile language for Indians hailing from the state of Haryana and openly exhibiting total disregard for the law of the Land.
hatred and bigotry especially Hinduphobic in nature accentuated in the coming weeks when various supporters of "Jassi" in Canada, India & US started posting videos with vile & abusive language in retaliation to Vishal's Pro-India Stand (videos are still available on various social media platforms like FB, Instagram & youtube)
Who is Vishal Jood?
Vishal Jood, the 24-year-old from Haryana (A North Indian State which has produced multitude of world class olympians and other sports personalities to the likes of Yogeshwar dutt, Virendra Sehwag, Sakshi Malik, Saina Nehwal and countless more) a student in Australia, was arrested on 16 April in Sydney for his alleged involvement in three criminal incidents. Reportedly, Vishal has been accused of three crimes i.e property, affray, and assault that allegedly occurred on 16 September 2020 and 14 and 28 February 2021. Interestingly, the Khalistani separatists have been named the ‘victims’ in all the three cases. These Khalistani elements are believed to be from Indian-origin, however, they do not identify themselves as Indians but prefer being identified with their religious identity and support the idea of Khalistan.
One of the close friend of Vishal based in Australia have talked to NRI Herald and have said that
"Vishal has been framed by the anti-india forces operating in Australia only because he stood up for the respect of Indian flag"

Khalistani separatist movement- A threat to every citizen of the free world
The Khalistan movement not only adheres to the bigotry, extremism, patriarchy, and violence prevalent among the Jihadi terrorist groups but also has close ties with them in operational and strategic matters.
India has long suffered from separatist movements, e.g., Nagaland and Mizoram in the northeast and Kashmir and Punjab in the northwest. Amongst them, Punjab’s Khalistan insurgency was the bloodiest and most dangerous. Between 1980 and 2000, in the Khalistan insurgency, 11,694 civilians, 1,784 security forces, and 8,069 militants died. The Khalistan movement aimed at the creation of an independent state, namely Khalistan. Massively supported by Pakistan, it was Pakistani General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq’s strategy to bleed India through “a thousand cuts” to avenge the defeat of the 1971 war. The movement petered out by the early 1990s; however, lately, it has been on the upswing again.
#JusticeforVishalJood is trending on Twitter for the last 2 weeks. This hashtag has been tweeted 208,000 time and have received 198,000 likes till date. "Vishal Jood" is no longer just a name but a revolution in making.
