Indian Supreme Court seeks Center's response on PIL seeking voting rights for NRIs

A bench composed of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justices JK Maheshwari and Hima Kohli got wind of the Kerala Pravasi Association's PIL requesting that NRIs be granted voting privileges.
The Supreme Court has directed the Center and the Election Commission to deliver their answer to a PIL seeking voting rights for non-resident Indians (NRIs) in polls on Wednesday.
A panel of Chief Justice N V Ramana, Justices J K Maheshwari and Hima Kohli took note of the Kerala Pravasi Association's PIL requesting that NRIs be granted voting rights.
The Supreme Court issued notifications and directed that the PIL be tagged with other pending ones on the subject.
